Subcutaneous (SQ) injections are given under the skin in the front of the shoulder (where the neck joins the body).
You can restrain the llama without a chute while giving the injection.
Intramuscular (IM) injections are given directly into the muscle in these areas:
- Upper rear of the thigh at the level of the testicle
- Back of the forearm (where humans get IM vaccinations).
